Thanks for using ReadingWise Vocab. We know that many of you love to bespoke word lists to fit your curriculum, to adapt and differentiate words for pupils, and to ensure your classes benefit from the reinforcement when revisiting words.
How to Request Word Lists
Following these steps helps us to manage your requests efficiently.
- Create your list (and give it a title)
- Share your list
- Allow 4 Weeks
It's really helpful if your list is easy to copy and paste. In Microsoft Word, if you create a table and add words to the first column and defintions (if needed) to the second, this is great. Similarly, a Microsoft Excel document or a Google Sheet with two columns (words, definitions) is great. Sharing a link to a google sheet is fine.
Definitions are Optional: We have many (most?) definitions in our system, but for unusual words - characters from a book, highly specialised words, of if you require specific definitions - please add them.
Suggestion: Download And Use This Word Template!
NOTE: We have over 23,000 words and definitions in our system. You can browse them here, and copy and paste your chosen word and definition into a new document to share with us. If you don't change the content, this is very fast for us to create. If you do, please make sure you mark clearly which words / definitions have been changed.
Capitalisation: Capitalise exactly as you want things to appear. Do not capitalise all words (only proper nouns etc.) It is quicker for us if you don't capitalise each word. Sometimes Microsoft Word defaults to caps in each line - our template has this setting removed.
Please give your word list a title.
Once you've got your list lined up and ready, please send it to us via 'wordlists @readingwise.com' (skip that space!).
It allows us to plan the flow of word lists if you plan for a 4-week turnaround.
