"ReadingWise proving a great success!"At the beginning of this academic year, Emma Davies approached the Preparation for Work and Life department to trial the literacy programme ReadingWise. Emma helped us to roll the programme out to our learners, and supported its delivery with enthusiasm and passion. In our experience of working with Foundation Level learners, this has been the most effective software initiative that we have used to improve the reading age and reading confidence of our learners. The software’s simplicity has enabled learners with low literacy levels to access this tool flexibly and independently both at college and at home. One of our learners, in particular, has spent just 9 hours using the programme so far and has improved his reading age by over one year. Imagine what he could achieve in a whole academic year!
