“That is 15 months progress in 4 academic months !! We are amazed at this and feel it is credit to the program and the systems we have developed as a result of our work with ReadingWise.”
Today one of the teachers who is working with a secondary aged pupil in our autistic provision told me about a success story we have linked to ReadingWise so I wanted to share with you!
In September this child was assessed using a couple of reading assessments such as Salford, Burt and Schonell to get an average for his reading age and he came out with 6 years and 2 months. Since September he has been working on phonics activity in his literacy lesson as part of a circuit, reading three times a week at least and working on the ReadingWise programme twice a week at least for 25 minutes. His assessment today showed a reading age of 8 years and 5 months!! That is 15 months progress in 4 academic months !!
We are amazed at this and feel it is credit to the program and the systems we have developed as a result of our work with ReadingWise which highlighted methods we could use more in school.
So thank you for letting us be part of it and here's to many more of these stories.
