Our business brain at ReadingWise is Professor Al Richardson, although he is no stranger to the world of education either.
Al has spent more than 30 years helping to found and develop organisations in sectors that include natural resources, financial services, publishing, media and charities. His management experience was gained at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was an international tax manager. Subsequently he founded and built, from concept, a £30 million turnover company employing more than 200 professionals in the 1980s.
He has also helped develop education strategy in former Soviet countries, and worked with charities focused on Indian and African education and medical development.
A professor of science in enterprise at the Royal Institution of Great Britain since 2002, Al has devoted a substantial proportion of his time to academic and research work, particularly in understanding the nature of work itself.
He has been a visiting research fellow in entrepreneurial performance since 1999 at Cranfield University School of Management.
