The ReadingWise Leader Board: Adding Accuracy

A minor update to the calculation to the leader board data.

The Change

This Friday (June 9th 2023) we are updating the calculation used to tally up the scores on the ReadingWise leader board.

We are integrating accuracy to the measure. We believe this supports an appropriate incentive to focus on accuracy rate. The calculation will now be:

(Total tokens / total active learners) x average accuracy rate.

Example 1 of the change:

A school has 50 active students over the last week. Cumulatively they have gained 6032 tokens over the last week.

6032 / 50 = 121 tokens.

Now we integrate the average accuracy rate, which for these students was 78%.

121 x 78% = 94

Example 2 of the change

A school has 100 active students over the last week. Cumulatively they have gained 12,064 tokens over the last week.

12,064 / 100 = 121 tokens.

Now we integrate the average accuracy rate, which for these students was 82%.

121 x 82% = 99
