After completing her studies in early childhood, Jess went on to be an early years teacher. Through this time she developed leadership skills and a deep understanding of how to engage children in learning through play and exploration. After 4 years of early years teaching, Jess proceeded to travel around South East Asia, where she developed a deep love of cultural exchange and learning
Upon arriving back in the UK, Jess took to freelance work as a disability and inclusion practitioner specialising in art and project development. In this role, she gained knowledge of working with young people with disabilities and tailoring projects to meet diverse needs and interests. She has many fond memories of the amazing projects she helped come to fruition and the fantastic young people she was lucky enough to work with. She never stopped learning or travelling, gaining experience in set design, spray painting and carpentry and going on trips to China and Tanzania. She later enrolled on a PGCE in primary education.
As a primary school teacher, Jess taught in Hackney and South London. Using her nursery teaching experience, Jess was able to invigorate the curriculum with a playful, excitement that captivated her older students. She used her nurturing approach to support all of her students to access the curriculum and build a sense of pride in their achievements.
Most recently Jess completed her yoga teacher training and level 2 in digital technology. Her travel and work have developed an open mind, playfulness and broad perspective which she tries to apply to everything she does and is thrilled to be part of a company that is making a difference in the lives of children, families, schools and the broader community.
